Jeremy Wyatt (WI), Amanda Blatch-Jones (RoR ) and Jonathan Shepherd (SHTAC) are presenting an Explorer Session entitled ‘Can digital tools improve the way we recruit and retain participants in trials?’ on February 19th in Alpha House Conference Room from 14:30 – 16:00  They will be sharing with you their knowledge on identifying, informing and recruiting the right participants for trials and the continuing challenges of retaining them. They will discuss the wide variety of digital tools such as database searches, on-screen recruitment prompts, patient websites, social media, appointment reminder texts and apps that have been tried out to improve recruitment and retention, with further discussion on how it is unclear which of the tools are acceptable and work well. They will be pleased to share with you the results of their 1 year project which is designed to answer this question, supported by Southampton & Bristol Clinical Trials Units and the NIHR Efficient Studies programme. They will be keen to seek the views of Explorer Session participants on these tools and on possible options for implementing the findings, and help them to consider the potential implications for their work.   It is anticipated that the Explorer session will be of most interest to the NETSCC ID&P, A&F and Monitoring teams and staff supporting the Wales & INVOLVE contracts, but others are very welcome to participate.

This is a fun, no stress class for anyone that has dreamed of knitting, but has never touched a knitting needle.  We will focus on the Knit Stitch only while making a square that you will take home and felt into a drink coaster, in your washer/dryer. Pre-register, as this popular class often sells out, and space is limited. Kangaroo Experience with granola feeding

Spend 30 minutes face to face learning and interacting with Red Kangaroos. This experience includes: feeding the kangaroos treats (granola), time to take individual photos, learn about the kangaroos and marsupials from our "Zoo Crew", and learning about the missions of Zoo Chateau. The interaction will be 30 minutes and the time will start as soon as the liability waivers are signed and we have entered the kangaroo enclosure.  Please note that this interaction is not the best environment for children under 3 years old. If parents would like to have their children that are under 3 participate, please ensure that there is an adequate number of adults to trade off holding or watching the kids as the kangaroos can react to crying and sudden movements. This is to make sure that you and our other guests get the most out of the interaction with our animals. All children will need a ticket reguardless of age due to limited ticket availability and limited space in the barn.  Guests should be comfortable around all types of animals. As a disclaimer: cats live on the property and occasionally dogs will also be present on the property. The itinerary for the Kangaroo experience will include: - Safety orientation on how to interact with the kangaroos (including signing release of liability) - If the roos are inside, two guests at a time will get the opportunity to go into the enclosure to feed the kangaroos and take photos as well as pet the roos. If they are outside, the group will go out into the enclosure and get the chance to individually feed and interact with and take photos with the roos.-The Zoo Crew Representative will give information about Bindi and Rooney, and kangaroos in general, and guests may ask any questions that they have- Meanwhile, the rest of the group will be watching and will be able to take photos from the viewing area (or within the enclosure) while they await their turn, or after the conclusion of their turn DISCLAIMER: Here at Zoo Chateau, our first priority is our animal and guest safety. If for some reason we feel that it is not in the best interest of the kangaroos or the guests, we reserve the right to cancel. In the event that Zoo Chateau cancels an interaction, guests will receive a voucher for a future date.  Please arrive on time as we will begin promptly. Entry may be refused to guests who arrive after the intended start time.   FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a PAYING legal guardian or adult assuming responsibility. Waivers/release of liability must be signed as soon as you enter the property, therefore minors CANNOT participate in this experience on their own. Since this is a legal document, ID may be required to be presented. This will be strictly enforced.  Can someone come observe and not participate for no charge? No. Due to the limited amount of space and our intimate experience with our animals, unfortunately we cannot allow for people to just observe. As for transportation, personal vehicles and Uber or Lyft are the best options. It is the first property passed the gate so it is easy to locate.  What can I bring into the event? Zoo Chateau shall not be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or ruined personal items while you are participating in the interactions or while presiding on the property.   How can I contact the organizer with any questions? A celebration of the power of film to inspire, educate, and motivate audiences, CEFF presents thought-provoking films from around the world and dialog with filmmakers that raise awareness of and inspire action on a wide variety of interconnected ecological, social, and economic themes. Schedule & Tickets CEFF opens Thursday evening with an awards ceremony and FREE films. Friday features CEFF for Kids, family-friendly films and dialog built for student groups. Friday and Saturday regular sessions run all day in two theaters.
